The local framework
- Sweden has one of the most advanced frameworks in the world.
- The Lag om klimatdeklaration, in force since 1 January 2022, requires a climate declaration (LCA, EN 15804 / EN 15978) for all new buildings subject to a permit, which conditions occupancy of these buildings.
- Requirement thresholds are expected around 2028-2030.

What it means for you
- Your equipment is included in the building’s climate declaration: building owners contractually require EN 15804 product data (EPD) rather than generic values.
- Without an EPD, you are excluded or penalised.
