Operated by EPD International AB (Environdec platform), it is one of the most geographically widespread programmes in the world, with a very generalist approach to the product categories covered.

IES is a generalist programme in terms of the categories it covers, and therefore has a very broad range of regulatory frameworks. Since 2024, a general framework has been established for EEE through a dedicated PCR (Product Category Rules). It is gradually being enriched with frameworks specific to the product categories targeted within EEE, with certain dedicated c-PCR (complementary PCR, additional category-specific rules). For EEE and HVAC, the PCR and c-PCR refer directly to the frameworks established by PEP Ecopassport: transposition is immediate.
